Shawn DeLude Owner
Shawn holds 20 years of experience in the waste industry. He started his career after graduating Nauset Regional
High School. His first taste of the industry came from hanging off the back of Bayside Disposal trucks. Over the
next decade, he worked with both Bayside and BFI. A 1999 merger left Shawn out of the waste industry. He used that
time to pursue his passion, and ran fishing charters for the next year. That fall, Shawn opened Nauset Disposal and
committed himself to this next endeavor. In 2006, Shawn founded We Support Local Business.com (weslb.com), an organization
and website dedicated to bringing together local businesses and consumers. In addition to his duties as president of
Nauset Disposal and Weslb.com, Shawn has also served on the Orleans Citizens’ Forum. He currently sits on the board of
the Cape Cod Young Professionals. In May of 2007, Shawn was honored with the U.S. Small Business Association’s
“Massachusetts Rising Star” award presented by Governor Patrick. Shawn remains committed to promoting the importance
of supporting local business. He is quick to offer his time and expertise to friends and colleagues alike.
Shawn spends as much free time as possible out fishing on his boat “Trashy Thoughts”. “If I’m not out picking
it (trash) up, I might as well be thinking about it…” he jokes. Some of his most memorable times over the years
have been fishing the waters off the Cape and the Florida Keys with friends. Shawn enjoys entertaining friends in
his basement game room. Many late nights and plenty of stories have been logged there, either watching the “big game”,
or honing pool skills.
Shawn’s two dogs, Brooklyn and Toter, while often busy being Nauset Disposal’s mascots, are never far from his side.
Tim DeLudeForeman
Tim is the youngest of the 5 DeLude siblings, and has been the foreman at Nauset Disposal since May of 2002. After graduating from Nauset Regional High School, he worked in landscaping for a local company, leading the construction installation crew. In ’99, Tim moved on to Cape Cod Ready Mix. It was there that he became their concrete pump operator and assistant mechanic, learning many valuable skills.
During this time, Tim was helping Shawn on nights and weekends with the newly formed Nauset Disposal. In the spring of 2002 he joined Shawn full time. Tim’s present duties include everything from driving commercial and residential routes, to overseeing daily operations, scheduling, and coordinating truck maintenance and repair. Tim is involved on the We Support Local Business .com board.
Tim coached for the Nauset Youth Basketball travel teams for 6 years. In 2005 he ran the Boston Marathon raising funds for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. He is presently training to run Boston again this coming April 20th 2009, this time for Tedi’s Team (A team founded by New England Patriot star Tedi Bruschi to benefit the American Stroke Association). Tim has been an on call EMT/Firefighter on the Orleans Fire Dept. since 2004. He has his sights set on an eventual degree in civil/environmental engineering.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys fishing with his brothers Shawn and Kevin, playing sports, scuba diving, brewing beer, traveling, and snowboarding.
Mary BrownOffice Manager
Growing up in Eastham, Mary, a native Cape Codder, has lived in Orleans with her husband John for the last 37 years. Mary was a co-owner
of Brownies Texaco for 28 years. In 2005, Mary “retired” when the Brown’s sold their beloved service station. Mary, not one to sit around,
had worked at Nauset Disposal part time for several years before the sale of Brownies and took the opportunity to become the full time office
manager. Mary plays a pivotal role in daily operations, be it answering customers’ questions, to handling billing and payroll among her many
other tasks.
During the summer you can often find Mary on Nauset’s outer beach with her two daughters Trina, an assistant branch manager at the Cape Cod Five, and Joanna who is a special needs teacher for autistic children in the Everett School system. Trina’s son Jamie is a highlight of Mary’s life and she attends all of his sporting events. When not on the sidelines cheering, Mary can also be found on the racquetball court giving any opponent who dares challenge her, a run for their money. She counts on her time in the Dominican Republic every year for much needed rest and relaxation.
Matt DiGiacomo Commercial/Residential Driver
As an Orleans native, Matt grew up on the surrounding waters sailing and fishing. Matt has an older sister Delia, and two younger siblings,
a brother Seth and youngest sister Jessie. Growing up, the DiGiacomo’s became soccer fanatics, which has lead to a lifetime passion.
After beginning his storied soccer career in the Nauset Regional Schools, Matt’s family moved to Virginia where he finished up high
school. He continued playing into his college years both at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pennsylvania and then at Old Dominion
University in Virginia.
After college, Matt worked in the Norfolk area as a bouncer before returning to the Cape. Once back on Cape, Matt worked for a long-distance
moving company driving back and forth from Florida, often being on the road for weeks at a time. Being family oriented, Matt enjoys working
with Nauset Disposal because of his proximity to home and the flexibility it gives him to pursue his other passions. When not at work, Matt
spends his time on the water with his brother-in-law Jay in their boat fishing Pleasant Bay and the waters off Chatham. Matt is a Coast Guard
licensed Captain. He is an avid kayaker and enjoys spearfishing. In spring of 2008, Matt made a trip to the Carolinas to fish from his kayak
with a speargun for Giant Bluefin tuna. While coming up empty handed that trip, he hopes to return soon and “catch” his ultimate dream. On
any given night, you can find him working out at Fitness Revolution, followed by playing Call of Duty online.
All of us in the Nauset Disposal Family are extremely grateful and proud of Matt’s brother, Sergeant Seth DiGiacomo, an Army Ranger who has completed two tours of duty in Iraq and is currently stationed in Tacoma, WA.
Bryan Catlin Commercial/Residential Driver
Bryan was born nearby in Newport, RI as part of a Navy family. At the young age of 2, his family moved to Orleans where
he still calls home. Bryan has two younger sisters, Karen and Heather. After high school, Bryan worked at a landscaping
company for a year before joining Nauset Disposal’s team in 2005. Bryan is an avid athlete and enjoys playing just
about any sport. He is often the organizer of summer whiffleball games with the other drivers. A highlight for Bryan
was his involvement with the Orleans Cardinals as a bullpen catcher for two summers. Bryan enjoys hanging out with
friends on the beach, playing Call of Duty online, and working out at Fitness Revolution. He is quick to help out both
friends and strangers alike. Bryan’s truck is his pride and joy, always waxed and sparkling clean. He counts his trip
to Australia a few years ago as motivation for future travel someday. Bryan continues to contribute professionalism and
dedication to our team.
